Community Health Charities of Illinois commissioned a survey of Illinois residents to find out how people felt about workplace giving and to explore their giving habits. The results of this survey were enlightening and exciting.
Key Findings
- 97% of respondents contribute to charity
- 80% of respondents are giving the same or more to charity than they did last year
- 20% of respondents give most of their charitable dollars to health causes
- Health causes rank #2, behind religion, in overall giving
- 69% of respondents choose to give to a charity because of a personal connection to the cause
- 74% of respondents say that they feel giving through payroll deduction is "easy" or "convenient"
