Federal Employees Give Generously in Chicago

The federal employees in Chicago are making a big impact on local charities. Through the Combined Federal Campaign, federal employees have raised 4.2 million dollars this year.

The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) was created in 1961 as a way to standardize charitable giving opportunities for civilian and military federal workers. Today more than 300 local CFC campaigns are run in communities across the country.

Federal workers in the Chicago area comprise one of the largest CFC campaigns in the country and have contributed tens of millions of dollars to assist with issues facing the Chicago community.

Local charities can apply for admission to the CFC by submitting an application and meeting rigorous standards. These charities are then listed in a campaign guide that is distributed to every employee. Employees then choose to make their donation to any of the agencies listed in the campaign guide.

Community Health Charities is a founding participant of the Chicago CFC. Community Health Charities allows employees to support medical research, health education and patient services through their CFC gift. Community Health Charities represents 37 of Illinois’s premiere health related charities that serve the diseases and disabilities facing our community today.

You can designate a gift to Community Health Charities through the CFC by indicating code number #5500, or make a donation online.
